What is a Flight Nanny?

A flight nanny travels with your Maine Coon kitten on a flight. The nanny makes sure your kitten is well cared for from when they leave our cattery. The care continues from the time they leave the cattery until they arrive at your airport.

We can also accommodate two kittens that are traveling home together. Discover why getting two kittens is better than one.

Unlike shipping your pet as cargo, the kitten travels in the cabin with our nanny, who tends to their every need throughout the journey. This service is ideal for those who live too far to travel themselves to pickup their kitten, and want to ensure a personal and attentive travel experience for their kitten.

Why Use a Flight Nanny Service for Kittens?

Young kittens are particularly vulnerable during travel. The unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells of an airport and airplane can be overwhelming. A flight nanny helps mitigate these stresses by providing constant care and comfort, ensuring the kitten remains calm and stress-free.

For you (as the new owner), this service offers unparalleled convenience. It gives peace of mind knowing a professional is handling every aspect of the journey.

Pre-Travel Preparations

Before the flight, we’ll make sure that all necessary preparations are made. This includes obtaining health certificates from a veterinarian. We also provide a TSA friendly travel carrier. Your kitten will be familiar with the travel carrier several days before travel. The carrier will be sprayed with calming spray to help with any travel-related stress.

The Day of the Travel

  • If traveling by car, the nanny will pick the kitten up in the morning and drive to your home.
  • If traveling by plane, we’ll meet the flight nanny at the airport and hand the kitten off. The kitten will stay in the nanny’s sight and care until it arrives at your airport.

In-Flight Care

During the flight, the flight nanny’s primary focus is on the kitten’s well-being. They ensure the kitten is comfortable, providing food, water if needed. The nanny is also trained to handle any emergencies. They address minor issues like discomfort and more serious health concerns. This ensures that the kitten is safe throughout the journey.

Arrival and Handover

Upon arrival at the new owners’ airport, the nanny conducts a final check to ensure the kitten is healthy and calm. They then meet the new owner for the handover, ensuring the kitten is safely delivered to its new home.

Benefits of Using a Flight Nanny for Kitten Delivery

The benefits of using a flight nanny are numerous. Nannies have professional care and years of experience. They know how to handle kittens during the potentially stressful experience of air travel. This approach minimizes stress for the kitten. It also ensures they are in the best hands throughout the journey.

Cost of White Glove Delivery Service

The cost of a flight nanny service can vary based on several factors, including the distance of the flight. On average, you can expect to pay between $600 to $800, depending on your location and travel time.

Common Challenges and How They’re Addressed

Like any travel, flying with a kitten can present challenges. Delays and cancellations are among the most common issues, but a professional flight nanny will have contingency plans in place. Health emergencies are another concern, but again, experienced nannies are trained to handle such situations calmly and effectively.

  1. Hi, my name is Dawn Smith and our family adopted a Maine Coon we named Sunny D. Big Foot. He does not have papers and is 2 1/2 years old. He is gorgeous and fallen in love with me. He needs a mate and as you will see from the photo he and Sassy Would be a perfect match. She would have a family of 3 … a Grand father and a Grand mother plus me, their daughter. We use a local vet and we have Fetch Insurance. We try to remain on schedule and use a groomer who loves him once a month. Gram’s telephone number is 508-476-5301. Best available time is EST 7pm. I have raised Sunny since 8 weeks old. He was born on a farm in. ……………..Massachusetts, more than an hour away from our home in Douglas, Ma 01516, A small town in Massachusetts, South of Worcester, Ma, and about the same distance from Boston. Luckily an airport limousine service is owned by related family and picking her up personally at the airport at TFGreen would not be a problem but would like a nany for this precious little one. Our only problem is the price. We would have to finance her arrival, so we would like an estimate of your estimate for adoption and any finance options you may have access to. So excited! We sincerely hope Sassy will be ours. We do not intend to breed.
We live in a brand new Condo and our home is very neat and clean. And we are used to the mess a kitten can make, or a young cat….up to 2 years or so old. Gram and Par used to raise white long haired German Shepards with 11 to 13 pups in a litler when my sister and I were growing up. Gram is a nurse so she was the obstetrician. Ha Ha. Hope you think we are good prospects. Dawn.
