When it comes to ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of our Maine Coon kittens across the country, our white glove delivery service is a top choice for our owners. These specialized services cater specifically to the needs of our kittens, providing a safe and stress-free travel experience. Here’s some information about our white glove delivery service to help you decide on travel arrangements for your new Sassy Koonz kitten.
What is a Flight Nanny?
A flight nanny service involves a trained professional who accompanies your Maine Coon kitten on a flight, ensuring they are well cared for from departure of our cattery to the arrival at your airport.
Unlike shipping your pet as cargo, the kitten travels in the cabin with our nanny, who tends to their every need throughout the journey. This service is ideal for those who live too far to travel themselves to pickup their kitten, and want to ensure a personal and attentive travel experience for their kitten.
Why Use a Flight Nanny Service for Kittens?
Young kittens are particularly vulnerable during travel. The unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells of an airport and airplane can be overwhelming. A flight nanny helps mitigate these stresses by providing constant care and comfort, ensuring the kitten remains calm and stress-free.
For you (as the new owner), this service offers unparalleled convenience and peace of mind, knowing that a professional is handling every aspect of the journey.
How White Glove Delivery Service Works
The process begins by requesting delivery of your kitten within 2 weeks of their go-home dates. You can find their go home dates listed on their individual profile pages at the time of reservation. It’s essential to request travel for your kitten in advance, as availability can be limited, especially during peak travel times.
We’ll find a flight that works for both you and our flight nanny, and then confirm the travel arrangements. The fee for the flight plus the travel nanny will be collected at that time.
The fee for white glove delivery is:
- Cost of the airline ticket ,
- Pet travel fee charged by the airline (usually $100 – $125)
- +$300.00 Flight Nanny fee
Pre-Flight Preparations
Before the flight, we’ll make sure that all necessary preparations are made. This includes obtaining health certificates from a veterinarian, which some airlines require, and making sure the kitten’s carrier meets airline specifications. We’ll also make sure that the kitten is familiar with the travel carrier by introducing it to him/her several days before travel. The kitten’s travel carrier will be sprayed with calming spray to help with any travel related stress.
The Day of the Flight
On the day of travel, your kitten will be hand delivered to the airport, where the flight nanny will take over. This is usually a quick and efficient process, designed to minimize stress for the kitten. The nanny handles all check-in procedures, ensuring that your kitten is comfortable and ready for the flight.
In-Flight Care
During the flight, the flight nanny’s primary focus is on the kitten’s well-being. They ensure the kitten is comfortable, providing food, water if needed. The nanny is also trained to handle any emergencies, from minor issues like discomfort to more serious health concerns, ensuring that the kitten is safe throughout the journey.
Arrival and Handover
Upon arrival at the new owners’ airport, the nanny conducts a final check to ensure the kitten is healthy and calm. They then meet the new owner for the handover, ensuring the kitten is safely delivered to its new home.
Benefits of Using a Flight Nanny for Kitten Delivery
The benefits of using a flight nanny are numerous. With professional care and years of experience, nannies know how to handle kittens during the potentially stressful experience of air travel. This not only minimizes stress for the kitten but also ensures that they are in the best possible hands throughout the journey.
Cost of White Glove Delivery Service
The cost of a flight nanny service can vary based on several factors, including the distance of the flight. On average, you can expect to pay between $800 to $1,000, although prices can be higher for longer or more complex journeys.
Common Challenges and How They’re Addressed
Like any travel, flying with a kitten can present challenges. Delays and cancellations are among the most common issues, but a professional flight nanny will have contingency plans in place. Health emergencies are another concern, but again, experienced nannies are trained to handle such situations calmly and effectively.
